DTC Check / Clear [11/2018 - 12/2021]
- CHECK DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Road Sign Assist / Trouble Codes.
Body Electrical > Road Sign Assist > Trouble Codes
- Check for DTCs (Test Failed / Pending / Confirmed).
HINT:
Techstream Display Description Test Failed Shows the malfunction judgment results during the current trip. Pending Shows the malfunction judgment results up to now. (Indicates the possibility of a malfunction when no DTC is confirmed.) Confirmed Shows the DTCs confirmed up to now. (The number of current trips differs for each DTC.) Freeze frame data is stored respectively for pending DTCs, confirmed DTCs and the latest DTCs.
- CLEAR DTC
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Road Sign Assist / Clear DTCs.
Body Electrical > Road Sign Assist > Clear DTCs
- Clear the DTCs.
HINT:
Clearing the DTCs will also clear the freeze frame data.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
