Auto Up Operation does not Fully Close Power Window (Jam Protection Function is Activated) [06/2016 - ]: Procedure

2018 Toyota 86 GT, Standard TransSECTION Procedure
  1. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION) 
    1. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly (applicable location) (Refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2016 - ] ).
    2. Check that all the power windows move when the auto up and down function of the power window regulator master switch assembly and power window regulator switch assemblies are operated (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [06/2016 - ] ).

      OK

      Auto up and down function is normal

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (PROBLEM DUE TO INITIALIZATION FAILURE) 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK WINDOW GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT (APPLICABLE LOCATION) 
    1. Remove the window regulator motor assembly.
    2. Install the window glass onto the weatherstrip.
    3. Check if the door window regulator operates smoothly.
    4. Check that the window glass slides smoothly when sliding it up by hand.

      OK

      Door window glass slides smoothly.

      WARNING:

      Perform initialization again.

      HINT: 

      Ensure the following:

      • The window glass fits with the weatherstrip without improper contact or deformation.
      • Foreign objects are not caught in the weatherstrip.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [06/2016 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    FIT WINDOW GLASS CORRECTLY (REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECTS CAUSING IMPROPER FIT OR REPLACE PARTS)
