ACC Signal Circuit [06/2016 - 03/2017]: Procedure

2018 Toyota 86 GT, Standard TransSECTION Procedure
  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      MAIN BODY

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 3A and 3E instrument panel junction block assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3E-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      3A-20 - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3A-12 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      3A-13 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (ACC1 RELAY) 
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [06/2016 - ] ).
    2. Remove the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Battery negative (-) → 3A-12 or 3A-13
      Below 1 Ω
