BACKGROUND

Traditionally, Toyota and Lexus Collision Repair Manuals have called out GMAW/MIG welding wire type AWS A5.18 ER70S-3Β  as the approved designated welding wire for UHSS.

UPDATE

A recent update to Toyota and Lexus Collision Repair Manuals now includes two GMAW/MIG welding wire types: both AWS A5.18 ER70S-6Β  and ER70S-3Β  as approved welding wire for mild steel, HSS and UHSS. This publication change applies to all Toyota and Lexus Vehicles and model years. This Bulletin will serve as an official update for all previous Collision Repair Manuals, and will be published in manuals going forward.
