DESCRIPTION

* If the auto up/down function does not operate, the cause may be one or more of the following:

* The ECU in the power window regulator motor determines that the power window regulator motor has not been initialized.

* The power window regulator switch has a malfunction.

* The Hall-IC in the power window regulator motor has a malfunction.

* There is an open or short in the wiring between the rear power window regulator switch and the rear power window regulator motor.

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

2. CHECK MANUAL UP/DOWN FUNCTION (REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH LH)

(a) Check that the rear door power window LH moves when the manual up/down function of the power window regulator switch is operated Operation Check.

OK:

Rear door power window LH moves.

NG -- OTHER PROBLEM (GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE) Rear Power Window LH Does Not Operate With Rear Power Window Switch LH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR LH)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the power window regulator motor is functioning properly Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

The Techstream display changes according to operation of the rear power window switch LH.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH LH - REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR LH)

OK -- REPLACE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH Removal

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH LH - REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR LH)

(a) Disconnect the J10 switch connector.





(b) Disconnect the J11 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH LH





(a) Remove the rear power window regulator switch Removal.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH Removal
