DESCRIPTION
The LIN communication of the components related to the rain sensor occurs between the rain sensor and windshield wiper ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* When using the Techstream with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:
Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.
* Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RAIN SENSOR - WINDSHIELD WIPER ECU AND OVERHEAD JUNCTION BLOCK)
(a) Disconnect the R7 overhead junction block connector.
(b) Disconnect the E85 windshield wiper ECU connector.
(c) Disconnect the R11 rain sensor connector.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(e) Reconnect the R7 overhead junction block connector.
(f) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. REPLACE RAIN SENSOR
(a) Temporarily replace the rain sensor with a new one Removal.
(b) Check the rain sensor function is normal.
OK:
Rain sensor function is normal
NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER ECU Removal
OK -- END (RAIN SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE)
