DESCRIPTION

If the front passenger side door entry lock function does not operate but the entry unlock function operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. The part at fault may be an entry lock switch circuit (certification ECU [smart key ECU assembly] -> front passenger side door outside handle [entry lock switch] -> front passenger side door electrical key oscillator).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION

(a) When the master switch assembly door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

OK:

Door locks operate normally.

NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Operation Check
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LOCK SWITCH)

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:

On Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

(a) Disconnect the z22 oscillator connector.





(b) Disconnect the z21 handle connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE)

(a) Disconnect the E29 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the z21 handle connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (for Front Passenger Side)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. REPLACE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR

(a) Replace the door electrical key oscillator Disassembly.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)

(a) Check that the entry function operates normally.

OK:

Operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal

OK -- END (DOOR ELECTRICAL OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)
