CAN COMMUNICATION: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. BUS CHECK

HINT
Only CAN communication system DTCs for each ECU can be displayed on the Techstream.

(a) Select "CAN Bus Check" from "System Select".

2. CHECK INSTALLED SYSTEMS (ECUS AND SENSORS) THAT USE CAN COMMUNICATION

(a) Systems (ECUs and sensors) that use CAN communication vary depending on the optional settings of the vehicle. Check which systems (ECUs and sensors) are installed on the vehicle.





3. DTC TABLE BY ECU

HINT
* In the CAN communication system, CAN communication system DTCs output by the ECU can be displayed by using the Techstream.
* If CAN communication system DTCs are output, trouble cannot be determined solely from the DTCs. Perform troubleshooting according to "How To Proceed with Troubleshooting" How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

(a) SKID CONTROL ECU

HINT
DTC communication uses the SIL Line.





(b) COMBINATION METER ECU

HINT
DTC communication uses the CAN communication system.





(c) YAW RATE SENSOR

HINT
* The yaw rate sensor is connected to the CAN communication system but CAN communication DTCs are not output.
* If "Yaw Rate/Deceleration Sensor" is not displayed on the "Bus Check" screen on the Techstream, proceed to "Yaw Rate Sensor Communication Stop Mode" .

(d) STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

HINT
* The steering sensor is connected to the CAN communication system but CAN communication DTCs are not output.
* If "Steering Sensor" is not displayed on the "Bus Check" screen on the Techstream, proceed to "Steering Angle Sensor Communication Stop Mode" .

(e) ECM

HINT
* The ECM is connected to the CAN communication system but CAN communication DTCs are not output.
* If "Engine" is not displayed on the "Bus Check" screen on the Techstream, proceed to "ECM Communication Stop Mode" .

(f) CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

HINT
* The center airbag sensor assembly is connected to the CAN communication system but CAN communication DTCs are not output.
* If "SRS Airbag " is not displayed on the "Bus Check" screen on the Techstream, proceed to "Center Airbag Sensor Communication Stop Mode" .

4. DTC COMBINATION TABLE

* o:Stored.
* X: When one side of branch wire is open, storage may occur.
* *1: DTC may not be output when the CAN communication system malfunctions.

(a) Perform troubleshooting according to the combination of DTCs output.
