Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Radio Receiver: Procedure
2010 Toyota Tacoma Base, 4D Pickup, StandardSECTION Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TSW- - MGND)
- Disconnect the R10 radio receiver assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition R10-1 (TSW-) - R10-6 (MGND) Always Below 1 Ω R10-1 (TSW-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY - RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the I8 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.
- Disconnect the R10 radio receiver assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition I8-9 (ACC) - R10-3 (MCVD) Always Below 1 Ω I8-11 (MI1+) - R10-2 (MIC+) I8-12 (MIC-) - R10-5 (MIC-) I8-9 (ACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher I8-11 (MI1+) - Body ground I8-12 (MIC-) - Body ground - Reconnect the inner rear view mirror assembly connector.
- Reconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (MCVD VOLTAGE)
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition R10-3 (MCVD) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4 to 6 V

OK → See step 4
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
