Steering Angle Sensor Communication Stop Mode: Procedure
- CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR BRANCH WIRE)
- Disconnect the S9 steering angle sensor connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition S9-10 (CANH) - S9-9 (CANL) Ignition switch OFF 54 to 69 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CANH, CANL)
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG, ESS)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition S9-2 (ESS) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω - Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition S9-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
