2010 Toyota Tacoma Base, 2D Pickup, RWD, StandardSECTION Procedure
  1. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION, BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition Proceed to
      D4-6 (CANH) -D4-14 (CANL) Ignition switch OFF 54 to 69 Ω OK
      D4-6 (CANH) - D4-14 (CANL) Ignition switch OFF 69 Ω or higher NG-A
      D4-6 (CANH) - D4-14 (CANL) Ignition switch OFF Below 54 Ω NG-B

    NG-B → See step   5 

    NG-A → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (FOR SHORT TO +B) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D4-6 (CANH) - D4-16 (BAT) Ignition switch OFF 6 kΩ or higher
      D4-14 (CANL) - D4-16 (BAT) Ignition switch OFF 6 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (FOR SHORT TO GND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D4-4 (CG) - D4-6 (CANH) Ignition switch OFF 200 Ω or higher
      D4-4 (CG) - D4-14 (CANL) Ignition switch OFF 200 Ω or higher

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → See step   7 

  4. CHECK CAN BUS MAIN WIRE (FOR DISCONNECTION). Refer to  CAN Main Bus Line for Disconnection  
  5. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (FOR SHORT CIRCUIT). Refer to  Short in CAN Bus Lines  
  6. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (FOR SHORT TO +B). Refer to  Short to B+ in CAN Bus Line  
  7. GO TO HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  
  8. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (FOR SHORT TO GND). Refer to  Short to GND in CAN Bus Line
