Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Installation

2009 Toyota Yaris Base, 4D Sedan, AutomaticSECTION Installation
  1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Provisionally install the engine coolant temperature sensor through a new gasket.
    2. Using SST, tighten the engine coolant temperature sensor.

      SST 09817-33190 

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    3. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
  2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  4. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
