MIRROR (EXT): OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR: INSPECTION
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Check the outer mirror motor operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror face.
OK:
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Retract Mirror)
(a) Check the retractable mirror's movement.
(1) For each position: Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement.
OK:
NOTICE:
- Disconnect and reconnect the battery between each mirror position check.
- The mirror position cannot be changed manually when the battery is connected. To change the mirror position manually, the battery must be disconnected first.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/ EC Mirror)
(a) Check the EC mirror operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror face, as shown in the table and illustration.
OK:
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Mirror Heater)
(a) Check the mirror heater.
(1) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror heater.
OK:
HINT: It will take a short time for the mirror to become warm.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
5. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Check the outer mirror motor operation.
(1) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the mirror face.
OK:
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
6. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Retract Mirror)
(a) Check the retractable mirror's movement.
(1) For each position: Disconnect the battery, set the mirror position by hand, connect the battery, and check the retractable mirror's movement.

8. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Mirror Heater)
(a) Check the mirror heater.
(1) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror heater.
OK:
HINT: It will take a short time for the mirror to become warm.
If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
