Crankshaft Position Sensor: Installation

2009 Toyota Camry HybridSECTION Installation
  1. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring on the crankshaft position sensor.

    2. Install the crankshaft position sensor with the bolt.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)

    3. Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
  2. INSTALL ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. CONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. CONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. CONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  9. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  11. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine)  (See COOLANT (FOR ENGINE) )
  12. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine)  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  13. CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  14. WARM UP COMPRESSOR  (See REPLACEMENT )
  15. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK  (See REPLACEMENT )
  16. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization procedure (See INITIALIZATION ).
    NOTE: Some vehicle systems require initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
