Room Light Assembly: Inspection

2008 Toyota Tacoma Base, 2D Pickup, RWD, StandardSECTION Inspection
  1. INSPECT ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Measure the resistance using an ohmmeter, and check the results in accordance with the value(s) in ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY .

        Standard 

        ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 OFF 10 k or higher
        1 - 3 OFF 10 k or higher
        2 - 3 OFF 10 k or higher
        1 - 2 DOOR Below 1
        1 - 3 ON Below 1

        If the result is not as specified, replace the room light assembly.

    2. Check the light operation.
      1. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 2, then check that the light comes on when the switch is in the DOOR position.

        Standard: Light comes on. 

        If the light does not come on, replace the bulb.

      2. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 3, then check that the light comes on when the switch is in the ON position.

        Standard: Light comes on. 

        If the light does not come on, replace the bulb.
