Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Removal

2008 Toyota RAV4 Limited, 2.4 D, FWDSECTION Removal
  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  (See REPLACEMENT )
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP  (See REMOVAL  )
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE  (See REMOVAL  )
  5. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the sensor connector.
    2. Using SST, remove the sensor and gasket. SST 09817-33190
