Inspection Procedure

2008 Toyota Camry XLE, 2.4 ESECTION Inspection Procedure
  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT OPEN SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the E58 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E58-7 (TSW5) - Body ground Luggage compartment open switch not pushed 10 Ω or higher
      Luggage compartment open switch pushed Below 1 Ω

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

    NG: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT OPEN SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S9-1 - S9-2 Luggage compartment open switch not pushed (OFF) 10 Ω or higher
      Luggage compartment open switch pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT OPEN SWITCH 

    OK: REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
