DESCRIPTION
DTC output mode is set by connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
The DTCs are displayed by blinking the ABS warning light and VSC OFF indicator light.
WIRING DIAGRAM
HINT: When each warning light stays blinking, a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in each ECU is suspected.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT DLC3 (DLC3 (TC) - DLC3 (CG))
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - DLC3 (TC))
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC (FOR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check for CAN communication system DTC.
Result:
B -- REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK ECM (DLC3 (TC) INPUT)
(a) Using SST, connect terminal TC and CG of the DLC3.
SST: 09843-18040
(b) Check if the malfunction indicator lamp is blinking.
OK:
Malfunction indicator lamp is blinking.
NG -- REPLACE ECM
OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - DLC3 (TC))
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 (CG) - BODY GROUND)
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK ECM (DLC3 (TC) INPUT)
(a) Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
(b) Check if the malfunction indicator lamp is blinking.
Result:
B -- REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR ECM (TC AND/OR ECM CIRCUIT)
A -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK DTC (FOR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Check for CAN communication system DTC.
Result:
B -- REPAIR CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID
