Data List / Active Test

2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, FWDSECTION Data List / Active Test
  1. DATA LIST
    NOTE:
    • The DATA LIST values may vary significantly if there are slight differences in measurement, differences in the environment in which the measurements are obtained, or the aging of the vehicle. Thus, definite standards or judgment values are unavailable. Therefore, there may be a malfunction even if a measured values is within the reference range.
    • In the event of intricate symptoms, collect sample data from another vehicle of the same model operating under identical conditions in order to reach an overall judgment by comparing all the items of DATA LIST.

    HINT:

Using the DATA LIST displayed on the intelligent tester, you can read values including those of the switches, sensors, actuators, without removing any parts. Reading the DATA LIST as the first step of troubleshooting is one method to shorten diagnostic time.

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the intelligent tester on.
    3. Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / HV ECU / DATA LIST.
    4. Check the results by referring to the following table.

  2. ACTIVE TEST
NOTE: Beware that if the connector to the intelligent tester becomes disconnected or if a communication error occurs during the ACTIVE TEST, the vehicle could become inoperative (the READY light goes off).
    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the intelligent tester on.
    3. Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD / MOBD / HV ECU / ACTIVE TEST.
    4. According to the display on the tester, perform ACTIVE TEST.

      INSPECTION MOD1
      • To check engine running operation
      • To release traction control while using a speedometer tester
      • Runs the engine continuously with the shift lever in the P position
      • Releases traction control that is initiated when the rotational difference between the front and rear wheels is excessive with the shift lever in any position other than P
Ignition switch ON, HV system normal, not in maintenance mode, and other active tests not being done
INSPECTION MOD2 To release traction control while using a speedometer tester Releases traction control that is initiated when the rotational difference between the front and rear wheels is excessive with the shift lever in any position other than P Ignition switch ON, HV system normal, not in maintenance mode, and other active tests not being done
INSPECTION MOD3 To check engine running operation Runs the engine continuously with the shift lever in the P position Ignition switch ON, HV system normal, not in maintenance mode, and other active tests not being done
INVERTER STOP (1) To determine if there is an internal leak in the inverter or the HV control ECU Keeps the inverter power transistor actuation signal ON Ignition switch ON, shift lever In P position, system normal, inverter actuation hot being forcibly interrupted, during shutdown, and other active tests not being done
COMPRESS TEST (1) To crank the engine continuously in order to measure the compression Allows the engine to continue cranking by activating the Generator continuously Ignition switch ON, HV system normal, not in cranking mode, and other active tests not being done
WATER PUMP To activate the HV water pump continuously Activates the HV water pump continuously Ignition switch ON, HV system normal, not in maintenance mode, and other active tests not being done

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

  • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
  • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
  • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
  • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
  • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
