Front Airbag Sensor:
FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR
REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION: Refer to Restraint Systems Service Precautions before servicing.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE
4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH
a. Disconnect the connector from the front airbag sensor LH.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and the front airbag sensor LH.
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH
a. Check that the ignition switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
CAUTION: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.
c. Install the front airbag sensor LH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 9.0 N.m(92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf)
NOTE:
- If the front airbag sensor LH has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the front airbag sensor LH, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
d. Connect the connector to the front airbag sensor LH.
e. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the front airbag sensor LH.
2. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER
4. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING
a. Adjust headlight aiming.
7. ADJUST FOG LIGHT AIMING
a. Adjust fog light aiming.
8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
HINT: Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.
9. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Inspect the SRS warning light.
