2006 Toyota Sienna AWD V6-3.3L (3MZ-FE)SECTION Torque and Sequence
Cylinder Head Sub-Assembly Torque & Sequence

Using several steps, install and tighten the 8 cylinder head bolts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration (procedure "A").
Torque 54 Nm (550 kgf-cm, 40 ft. lbs.)

Mark the front side of each cylinder head bolt head with paint as shown in the illustration.
Retighten the cylinder head bolts by 90° in the same sequence as procedure "A".
Check that each painted mark is now at 90° angle to the front.
Cylinder Head LH Torque & Sequence

Using several steps, install and tighten the 8 cylinder head bolts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration (Procedure "B").
Torque 54 Nm (550 kgf-cm, 40 ft. lbs.)

Mark the front side of each cylinder head bolt head with paint as as procedure "B".
Retighten the cylinder head bolts by 90° in the same sequence shown in the illustration.
Check that each painted mark is now at 90° angle to the front.

INTAKE MANIFOLD

Install the intake manifold with the 9 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 washers. Using several steps, tighten the bolts and nuts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 15 Nm (153 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.)

CAMSHAFT BEARING
LH

Using several steps, install and tighten the 10 bearing cap bolts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft. lbs.)
RH

Using several steps, tighten the 10 bearing cap bolts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft. lbs.)

EXHAUST MANIFOLD
INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for 2WD)

Install a new gasket and the exhaust manifold RH with the 6 nuts. Using several steps, tighten the nuts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.)
Retighten nuts 1 and 2 shown in the illustration.
INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

Install a new gasket and the exhaust manifold RH with the 6 nuts. Using several steps, tighten the nuts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.)
Retighten nuts 1 and 2 shown in the illustration.
CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

Align the keyway of the pulley with the key located on the crankshaft and slide the pulley into place.
Torque 220 Nm (2250 kgf-cm, 162 ft. lbs.)
INSPECT CYLINDER HEAD SET BOLT

Using vernier calipers, measure the tension portion diameter of the bolt.
Standard outside diameter 8.95 to 9.05 mm (0.3524 to 0.3563 inch)
Minimum outside diameter 8.75 mm (0.3445 inch)
If the diameter is less than minimum, replace the bolt.
Using several steps, install and tighten the 8 cylinder head bolts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration (procedure "A").
Torque 54 Nm (550 kgf-cm, 40 ft. lbs.)
