Glass Hatch Opener System: Inspection

2005 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection
  1. INSPECT BACK WINDOW LOCK ASSY 
    1. Apply battery voltage and inspect the window lock motor operation, as shown in the illustration and table.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the window lock assy.

    2. Measure the resistance of the courtesy switch.
      COURTESY SWITCH RESISTANCE

      Terminal No. Door Lock Latch Position Specified Condition
      1-2 Open or half lock Below 1 Ω
      1-2 Not pushed 10 Ω or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the window lock assy.

  2. INSPECT GLASS HATCH OPENER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance of the switch.
      GLASS HATCH OPENER SWITCH RESISTANCE

      Terminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition
      1-3 Free Below 1 Ω
      2-3 Not pushed Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.
