Inspection Procedure
2004 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited, AWDSECTION Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG, AM1)
- Remove the ECU-IG and AM1 fuses from the instrument panel J/B.
- Check the resistance.
Standard: Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE FUSE
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT RELAY (IG1)
- Remove the IG1 relay from the instrument panel J/B.
- Check the operation of the IG1 relay.
Standard:
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Specified Condition 3 - 5 10 kΩ or higher 3 - 5 Below 1 Ω (When battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)
- NG: REPLACE RELAY
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSY
- Check the switch resistance.
Standard:
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Switch Position Specified Condition 1 - 3 ACC Below 1 Ω 1 - 2 ON Below 1 Ω 1 - 3 ON Below 1 Ω 5 - 6 ON Below 1 Ω 1 - 2 START Below 1 Ω 5 - 4 START Below 1 Ω 5 - 6 START Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSY
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check the switch resistance.
- CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) (POWER SOURCE)

- Disconnect the 1A J/B connector.
- Check the voltage between the wire harness side connector and the body ground.
Standard:
TERMINAL SPECIFIED CONDITIONTerminal No. Condition Specified Condition 1A-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
