Air Pump ASSY: Replacement
2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Replacement

- DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
- REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSY
- Remove the 2 screws and clip, then open the front fender liner.
- Disconnect the air pump relay connector.
- Disconnect the air pump connector.
- Disconnect the air hose No. 5.
- Remove the bolt, then remove the ground cable.
- Remove the 2 bolts and nut, then remove the air pump.
- Using a screwdriver, unfasten the claw. Then remove the clamp from the air pump.
- INSTALL AIR PUMP ASSY
- Fit the clamp into the air pump.
- Install the air pump with the 2 bolts and nut.
Torque:
7.0 Mm (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf) for air pump x body
8.4 N.m (86 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf) for ground cable x a pump
- Install the ground cable with the bolt.
- Connect the air hose No. 5.
- Connect the air pump connector.
- Connect the air pump relay connector.
- Install the front fender liner with the 2 screws and clip.
- CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 In.lbf)
