- Remove battery.
- Remove battery carrier. See Figure.
- Remove clip and disconnect control cable from bracket. See Figure.
- Remove park/neutral position switch:
- Disconnect park/neutral position switch connector. See Figure.
- Remove nut and disconnect control cable. See Figure.
- Remove nut, washer and transaxle control shift lever. See Figure.
- Using a screwdriver, pry off lock plate. See Figure.
- Remove nut and lock plate.
- Remove 2 bolts and pull out park/neutral position switch. See Figure.
