2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Diagnostic Procedure

Turn ignition on and retrieve DTCs. If DTC B1223/23 is present before operating power window switch on front passenger door or if DTC B1223/23 is not present while operating power window switch on front passenger door, test power window switch. Front passenger door ECU is also referred to as power window switch. See FRONT PASSENGER DOOR CONTROL SYSTEM under TROUBLE SHOOTING under BODY CONTROL SYSTEMS - AVALON article under COMMUNICATION DEVICES in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If switch tests okay, check and repair wiring harness. See POWER WINDOWS in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article. After repairs have been made, perform confirmation test.
