Second Row Seat Back Cushion/Cover: Removal

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Removal

  1. Open liftgate.
  2. Remove liftgate sill scuff plate. (Refer to L1FTGATE SILL SCUFF PLATE ).
  3. Remove second row seat. (Refer to REMOVALΒ  ).
  4. Remove four screws and push pins attaching seat back panel.
  5. Push tabs and release handle and bezel assembly.
  6. Release handle and cable assembly.
  7. Remove two bolts attaching (on side of seat) seat back support arm.
  8. Remove side shield.
  9. Remove two bolts attaching outer seat back to hinge.
  10. Remove two bolts attaching inner seat back to hinge.
  11. Disengage J-straps (Fig 1 ).

  13. Remove seat back cover and cushion from seat back frame.
  14. Remove seat back cover from cushion.
