Front Seat: Installation

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Installation

  1. Place front seat into vehicle.
  2. Connect wire connectors under seat (Fig 1 ).

  4. Place front seat studs into mounting holes.
  5. Raise and support vehicle.
  6. Install four nuts attaching seat to floor pan (Figure ).
  7. Tighten nuts to 68 N.m (50 ft. lbs.) torque.
  8. For right side front seat, install muffler to body heat shield. (Refer to HEAT SHIELDS ).
  9. For left side front seat, install vapor canister. (Refer to VAPOR CANISTER ).
  10. Remove vehicle supports and lower vehicle.
  11. Install front seat headrest. (Refer to INSTALLATIONΒ  ).
  12. Connect battery negative cable.
