Section 971 (Power Liftgate System): Liftgate: Adjustments: In/out

  1. Remove the upper liftgate trim. (Refer to TRIM PANELΒ  ).
  2. For the upper liftgate adjustments, loosen the hinge to header nuts and adjust to specifications (Figure ). (Refer to GAP AND FLUSH ).
  3. Tighten nuts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.) torque.
  4. For the lower liftgate adjustments, loosen the striker screws and adjust to specifications (Figure ). (Refer to GAP AND FLUSH ).
  5. Tighten screws to 33 N.m (24 ft. lbs.) torque.
  6. Install the upper liftgate opening trim.(Refer to TRIM PANELΒ  ).
