Fuel Pressure Regulator: Installation
2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Installation

- Lightly lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil and place them into opening in module.
- Push regulator down and into place.
- Install ground wire.
- Install the module top to the module and gasket seal.
- Ensure seal is properly positioned in the fuel tank groove.
- Install the Fuel Pump Module lock ring.NOTE: Use a brass punch to Install the 1/4 turn lock ring. Make sure all 5 tabs are properly seated.
- Connect the fuel line and vapor lines.
- Install fuel tank. Refer to FUEL TANK .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Fill fuel tank. Use the DRBIII® scan tool to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
NOTE:
The O-rings should be placed on the regulator first, to prevent them from being rolled out of position during regulator installation.
