2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Installation - Front

  1. Position the torca clamp on the catalytic converterr.
  2. Install the muffler into the catalytic converter until the guide pin on the converter seats into the slot on the muffler.
  3. Install the outlet pipe of the muffler into the inlet pipe of the resonator/muffler assembly with 45mm (.039 in.) of insertion.
  4. Tighten tocra clamp nut to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.).
  5. Install the resonator/muffler assembly (Refer to INSTALLATIONΒ  ).
  6. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
  7. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make the necessary ajustments, if needed.
