Liftgate Drive Unit Motor: Removal
2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Removal

- Open the liftgate.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the left rear D-pillar trim panel from the vehicle. Refer to D-PILLAR TRIM .
- Remove the power liftgate drive unit assembly from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the wire harness connector from the motor assembly. Gently pry the retaining tabs apart until the connector comes free from the motor.
- Remove the three T25 motor retaining screws (Fig 1) and remove the motor from the drive unit.
