Speedometer Driven (ATM) Gear Sub-ASSY (U241E): Replacement

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Replacement

  1. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  2. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the speedometer driven gear sub-assy connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and speedometer driven gear sub-assy.

    3. Remove the clip and speedometer driven gear from the speedometer driven gear sub-assy.
    4. Remove the O-ring from the speedometer driven gear sub-assy.

  3. INSTALL SPEEDOMETER SENSOR 
    1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the speedometer driven gear sub-assy.
    2. Install the speedometer driven gear to the speedometer driven gear sub-assy.

    3. Install the speedometer driven gear sub-assy with the bolt.

      Torque:  5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

    4. Connect the speedometer driven gear sub-assy connector.

  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )
