- PRECAUTION (SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
- DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.2
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER NO.3
- REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSY (SEE HORN ASSY )
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSY (SEE
OVERHAUL
)
SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021)
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR (SEE OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (SEE OVERHAUL )
- REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY (SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
- REMOVE STEERING SENSOR
- Disconnect the steering sensor connector.
- While pressing the 2 claws, remove the steering sensor.
- INSTALL STEERING SENSOR
- Install the steering sensor.
- Connect the steering sensor connector.
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY
- If any of the following conditions occur, replace the spiral cable sub-assy with a new one.
Condition:
- Scratches or cracks on the connector
- Cracks, dents or chipping of the spiral cable sub-assy
- If any of the following conditions occur, replace the spiral cable sub-assy with a new one.
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD (SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
- INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY (SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
- CENTER SPIRAL CABLE (SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
- INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSY (SEE OVERHAUL )
- INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSY (SEE HORN ASSY )
- INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSY (SEE HORN ASSY )
- CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
- INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS )
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION (SEE
INITIALIZATION
)

When disconnecting the negative battery terminal, it is necessary to initialize other systems.
