2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION On-Vehicle Repair

  1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE (See  EXHAUST SYSTEM  ) 
  2. DISCONNECT O/D DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR 
  3. REMOVE O/D DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Remove the bolt and O/D direct clutch speed sensor.
    2. Remove the O-ring from the O/D direct clutch speed sensor.
  4. INSTALL O/D DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the O/D direct clutch speed sensor.
    2. Install the O/D direct clutch speed sensor to the transmission case and torque the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) 

  5. CONNECT O/D DIRECT CLUTCH SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR 
  6. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE (See  EXHAUST SYSTEM  )
