Inspection Procedure

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. Check MPX-IG fuse and D-IG1 relay. 

    CHECK: 

    1. Check continuity of MPX-IG fuse.
    2. Check D-IG1 relay.

    OK: 

    Continuity 

    1. NG : Replace the failure fuse or relay. 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  2. Check voltage between terminals FMIG and E of front light ECU connector. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Turn the ignition switch ON.

    CHECK: 

    Measure voltage between terminals FMIG and E.

    OK: 

    Voltage: 10 - 14 V 

    1. OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ). 
    2. NG : Go to next step. 
  3. Check wire harness and connector between ECU and body ground (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG : Repair or replace wire harness or connector 
    2. OK : Check and repair wire harness and connector between ECU and battery (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).
