- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove 2 seat track covers, 4 bolts, disconnect Yellow side air bag connector, then remove front seat. See Fig 1. Remove reclining adjuster release handle and reclining adjuster knob.
- Remove front seat cushion shield. Remove screw and inner front seat cushion shield. See Fig 1. Remove wire harness from seat cushion assembly, remove 4 bolts and seat cushion assembly. Remove hog rings at lower seat back frame. Remove 4 bolts and seat back assembly. Remove side air bag module from seat back assembly.
- To install reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Check the AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
