Fuel Lid Opener System: Inspection

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection

  1. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the luggage door opening switch assembly continuity.

      Standard:

      If the operation is not as specified, replace the door lock assembly.

  2. INSPECT FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCK SUB-ASSY 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and check that the motor operates in the open direction.

      If the operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

    2. Inspect the shaft strokes.

      Standard: 10.3 mm (0.406 in.) or more
