Intake Air Control Valve ASSY No. 2 (3MZ-FE): Replacement

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Replacement

  1. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSY NO. 2Β 
    1. Remove the wire harness clamp.

    2. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and nut.
    4. Rotate the lever to the closed position as shown in the illustration, then pull out the intake air control valve No. 2.
    5. Remove the gasket from the intake air surge tank.

  2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSY NO. 2Β 
    1. Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank.
    2. Install the intake air control valve No. 2 with the 3 bolts and nut.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)Β 

    3. Connect the vacuum hose.
    4. Install the wire harness clamp.
