Inspection Procedure
- CHECK CAN BUS LINE (MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION, BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT, DLC3 SUB BUS LINE FOR DIS CONNECTION)
- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 2.
Standard:
NG-A: CHECK CAN MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (SEE CHECK CAN MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION )
NG-B: CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (SEE CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT )
OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO +B
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 4 below.
Standard:
NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO +B (SEE CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO +B )
OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 4 below.
- CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO +B
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 6 below.
Standard:
NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO +B (SEE CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO +B )
OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 6 below.
- CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO GND
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 8 below.
Standard:
NG: CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO GND (SEE CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-H) FOR SHORT TO GND )
OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 8 below.
- CHECK CAN BUS LINE (CAN-L) FOR SHORT TO GND
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 10 below.
Standard:
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in Fig 10 below.

When to See a Mechanic

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
