Inspection Procedure

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK INITIALIZE 
    1. Start engine.
    2. Check that initial set control function of both headlamps operates.

      NG: Go to step   3 

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HEAD LIGHT UNIT 
    1. Check headlamp leveling motor resistance.
      1. Check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and 5.

      2. Check that there is resistance between terminals as shown in Fig 2 .

      NG: REPLACE HEAD LIGHT UNIT 

      OK: CHECK AND REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN HEADLAMP LEVELING ECU AND HEADLAMP LEVELING MOTOR) 
    1. Check the continuity of the vehicle side wire harness between headlamp leveling motor.

      Standard: There is continuity. 

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

      OK: CHECK AND REPLACE HEADLAMP LEVELING ECU ASSY
