Inspection Procedure

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT HEATER CONTROL HOUSING SUB-ASSY(SPD) 
    1. Remove A/C amplifier with connectors still connected.
    2. Shift the shift lever to neutral.
    3. Lift up the vehicle.
    4. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    5. Measure voltage between terminal SPD of the A/C amplifier connector and body ground when the front wheel is turned slowly.

      Voltage is generated intermittently:

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   ) 

    NG: Go to next step. 

    Voltage

  2. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Remove combination meter with connector.
    2. Shift the shift lever to neutral.
    3. Lift up the vehicle.
    4. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    5. Measure voltage between terminal C7-33 of the combination meter and body ground when the front wheel is turned slowly.

      Voltage is generated intermittently:
