Inspection Procedure

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LAMP) 
    1. Remove the combination meter assy.
    2. Disconnect combination meter assy C7 and C8 connector.

    3. Check warning lamp on the combination meter assy.
      1. Check that the tire pressure warning lamp comes on the combination meter assy when positive battery voltage is applied to the terminals as shown in WARNING LAMP SPECIFICATION  .
      WARNING LAMP SPECIFICATION

      Warning Lamp Battery Positive Battery Negative
      Tire pressure C7-27 C8-12

    OK: 

    Tire pressure warning lamp comes on. 

    1. NG : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    2. OK : Go To Next Step. 
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY - COMBINATION METER ASSY) (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (W/VSC)  or RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (W/O VSC)  .
      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (W/VSC)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S1-26 (WTIR) - C8-12 Below 1 Ω
      S1-26 (WTIR) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION (W/O VSC)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      S2-24 (WTIR) - C8-12 Below 1 Ω
      S2-24 (WTIR) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
