- CHECK CONTINUITY OF COMMUNICATION LINE
- Check the wire harness between the instrument panel J/B (body ECU) and theft warning ECU (theft deterrent ECU).
- Disconnect the connectors of the B7 instrument panel J/B (body ECU) and T5 theft warning ECU (theft deterrent ECU).
- Check the continuity between terminal MPX3 (B7-13) of the instrument panel J/B (body ECU) wire harness side connector and terminal MPX1 (T5-10) of the theft warning ECU (theft deterrent ECU) wire harness side connector.
Standard: Continuity
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step
- Check the wire harness between the instrument panel J/B (body ECU) and theft warning ECU (theft deterrent ECU).
- CHECK THEFT WARNING ECU ASSY (THEFT DETERRENT ECU) (POWER SOURCE)
- Inspect the ECU power source input.
- Disconnect the T5 ECU connector.
- Check the voltage between terminal +B1 (T5-2) of the ECU wire harness side connector and the body ground.
Standard:

- OK: Go to next step
- Inspect the ECU power source input.
- CHECK THEFT WARNING ECU ASSY (THEFT DETERRENT ECU) (GROUND)
- Inspect the ECU body ground.
- Disconnect the T5 ECU connector.
- Check the continuity between terminal E (T5-11) of the ECU wire harness side connector and the body ground.
Standard: Continuity
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: REPLACE THEFT WARNING ECU ASSY (THEFT DETERRENT ECU)
- Inspect the ECU body ground.
