- READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER (TACH)
- Check output value of ECM.
- Connect the hand-held tester to DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON and push the hand-held tester main switch to ON.
- Select the item "ENGINE SPD" in the DATA LIST and read its value displayed on the hand-held tester.
OK: There is almost no difference in the displayed engine rpm value.
- NG: GO TO ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM
- OK: Go to next step.
- Check output value of ECM.
- CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSY
INSPECTION USING OSCILLOSCOPE
- Check the input signal waveform.
- Remove the combination meter assy.
- Connect the oscilloscope to the terminals C7-11 and body ground.
- Start the engine.
- Check the signal waveform according to the condition in SIGNAL WAVEFORM .

- OK: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- Check the input signal waveform.
