Inspection Procedure

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK NAVIGATION SYSTEM SETTING 
    1. Enter the "MENU" screen by pressing the "MENU" switch.
    2. Enter the volume adjustment screen by pressing the "Volume" switch.

    3. Check that "OFF" is not selected.

      Standard: OFF is not selected.

    1. NG: TURN VOICE GUIDANCE VOLUME UP TO 4 USING VOICE ADJUSTMENT SWITCHES 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. CHECK NAVIGATION SETTING 
    1. Enter the "MENU" screen by pressing the "MENU" switch.
    2. Enter the "Setup" screen by pressing the "Setup" switch.

    3. Check that "Auto Voice Guidance" is not OFF.

      Standard: Auto voice guidance is not OFF. 

    4. Check if "Voice Guidance in All Modes" is ON.

      Standard: Voice guidance in all modes is ON.

    1. NG: TURN AUTO VOICE GUIDANCE TO "ON" 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK THE MAP DISC 
    1. Check that the map disc is not deformed or cracked.

      Standard: No deformations or cracks appear on the map disc.

    1. NG: REPLACE THE MAP DISC 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  4. CHECK RADIO AND NAVIGATION ASSY 
    1. Check if audio sound can be heard from the driver's side speaker.

      Standard: Audio sound can be heard. 

    1. NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (see  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ) 
    2. OK: REPLACE RADIO AND NAVIGATION ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )
