2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. DO ACTIVE TEST OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Check the taillight using ACTIVE TEST.

    Luggage Room J/B ECU: 

    LUGGAGE ROOM J/B ECU INSPECTION

    Description Tester display Check condition
    Taillight TAIL LIGHT ON - OFF
    1. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION) SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE, see  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  . 
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between luggage room J/B ECU and rear combination light.
    2. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between rear combination light and body ground.
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE, SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .
