Inspection Procedure

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. DO ACTIVE TEST OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Check that the illumination can light in an ACTIVE TEST.

    Driver Side J/B ECU: 

    DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU INSPECTION

    Passenger Side J/B ECU: 

    PASSENGER SIDE J/B ECU INSPECTION

    Front room light
    (Front step light)
    F ROOM LIGHT ON - OFF
    1. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE, SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  . 
    2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. INSPECT INTERIOR LIGHT, see  INSPECTION  . 
    1. NG: REPLACE INTERIOR LIGHT 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Inspect the harness and connectors related to each light, referring to the wiring diagram.
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE, SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .
