- DO ACTIVE TEST OF OBD II SCAN TOOL OR LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER
- Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Check that the headlight relay can operate in an ACTIVE TEST.
Driver Side J/B ECU:
DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU INSPECTIONDescription (Symbols) Tester display Check condition Headlight HEAD LIGHT ON - OFF HINT:
If the headlight relay is normal, the headlight Lo-beam comes "ON".
In the case that the headlight relay is activated but the headlight Lo-beam does not come on, check the headlight circuit.
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE, SEE PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT HEADLAMP RELAY
- Inspect headlight relay continuity
HEADLIGHT RELAY CONTINUITY INSPECTIONCondition Tester connection Specified condition Constant 3 - 4 Continuity Apply B+ between terminals 3 and 4. 1 - 2 Continuity - NG: REPLACE HEADLAMP RELAY
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between terminal HRLY of driver side J/B ECU and engine room No. 1 R/B.
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE, SEE PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
