2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT HEADLAMP UNIT 
    1. Inspect headlight beam level control actuator resistance
      1. Check that continuity exists between terminal 2 and 5.
      2. Check that resistance exists between terminal, as shown in the chart.

    1. NG: REPLACE HEADLAMP UNIT 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between headlamp leveling ECU and headlamp unit.
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOM TABLE, SEE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .
